About
Horizon Biofuels, Inc. (HBI) was formed by a group of Midwest business people who believed that is was possible to produce renewable sources of energy and products using locally grown and recycled feedstocks.
In 2006, we began making biodiesel in Arlington, NE for use in off-road and highway vehicles from recycled cooking oil and animal fat. We became the first commercial biodiesel plant to operate in Nebraska.
In 2007, we purchased the old Golden Sun Feeds mill in Fremont, NE and began converting it into a fuel pellet mill. Today we process hundreds of tons of wood a month converting what was waste into premium quality pellet fuel and animal bedding. Before HBI, much of this material was going into our landfills.
